Sides
Here are 5 of the Easiest 4th of July sides, or just the weekend!
Before I begin I have to admit I am not the grilling master in our family. I will undoubtedly give that title to my husband. I know a lot of people think their husband grills so amazing….but let me tell you mine is legit!

Before I tasted his steaks on the grill I did not care for steak. I didn’t care for any cut of steak really because until then I had not had a real seasoned steak cooked to perfection. Ever since I tasted what a steak should taste like I was hooked from there on. That’s actually one of the main reasons I married him…not really…ok yes it is.
We are a grilling family, I mean we grill at least once a week mostly twice. I always help with the prepping of course and the sides, so on this post I will stick with what I know best the most amazing and easiest sides on the grill you will ever taste and without breaking a sweat!
My first side is one that we grill every single time we have steaks, seriously if we don’t have this amazing side then we don’t grill. What is it you may ask? Asparagus.. don’t let me lose you! I swear Grilled Asparagus is WAAAAYYYY different than asparagus that isn’t grilled. Believe me because I don’t eat asparagus any other way. I’ve tried it sauteed, baked, in pasta, frozen, out of a can…and nothing is like when it’s grilled.
So, for this side on the grill all you need is a little EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) and some sea salt.
Grilled Asparagus
- First cut the ends off of the asparagus (like an inch or two the really hard part)
- Wash all asparagus
- Drizzle with the EVOO
- Roll the asparagus in the EVOO
- Sprinkle some sea salt (not too much)
- Roll the asparagus around again then place on Grill for about 2-3 minutes and VIOLA!
See…Now isn’t that one of the easiest sides on the grill?
Speaking of easy 4th of July sides and while I’m on a health kick; have you ever tried zucchini on the grill? This one is very similar to the asparagus in that the only ingredients are EVOO (extra virgin olive oil), a dab of butter, sea salt and ground black pepper.
Grilled Zucchini
Grab some Aluminum foil to make a grilling pouch. Cut your zucchini up, throw it on top of the aluminum, place all ingredients on top of zucchini, fold up the packets and place on the grill until the zucchini is nice and soft (about 10 minutes).
Now the next side is one that I have mentioned before but I have to have it on this list because we literally make it all the time when we BBQ.
Spicy Korean Bean sprouts aka Kongnamool!
Y’all this one probably takes the cake for easy so I couldn’t make this 4th of July sides list without this dish. It hardly requires any cooking time actually only 2 minutes!

Now for this next dish I have probably made this one in more ways than I can count. I have tried so many different cooking variations of this recipe that it was hard to pick which one I wanted to feature but since we are talking about 4th of July sides I think I will go with the one that is cooked on the GRILL.
I’m talking about Mac n cheese!
Yes, did you know you could cook this on the grill? Me neither until very recently and OMG the flavor will knock your socks off. Over at nibblemethis.com they have the BEST Mac n cheese on the grill! Nibblemethis if you’re reading this I absolutely LOVE Your cute quote on your site!
