Before baby freezer meals you must make
1 thing you need to do for your baby prep but don’t think about? Pre-baby freezer meals!
What’s that one thing you can do Pre-baby to help you out later? Or what’s that one thing you can do for that soon to be mother? Scroll down to find out.
Because who wants to be cooking when there’s a baby to snuggle? What is the one thing you can do for her/yourself that a lot of people don’t think about?
IF you said bring her a Freezer Meal then you are absolutely correct! I have three children myself but I actually didn’t start freezer meal planning until my second was about five years old. We are a military family, so there wasn’t much help with our first two, even with our third we had some help from my amazing Bonus mom. But there are only so many days before they too had to get back to their own lives.
By the time my third came around, I knew the “drill”. I knew I wouldn’t have much time to do anything else except take care of that new baby! Also, I knew I wouldn’t be up for much of anything for a few months, so I got to work on my pre-baby Freezer meals aka my pre-baby prep when I was about 8 months pregnant. I was doing Freezer meals for our family before but I wanted specific ones for “when baby comes”.
These things Below Saved me! Since I only have two hands, Like most of you I used these to hold the freezer bags and I do not make meals without them anymore!
You always tend to think about things you need for the hospital bag, the hospital stay, the nursery, but one thing you need to put on that list is your pre-baby freezer meals and start prepping.

So, for my pre-baby freezer meals, I set aside a few days and went to work! I made 2 months worth of meals in 2 days! I seriously think Freezer Meals are what saved me in the beginning. These meals not only helped me be less stressful but it also allowed me to spend more quality time with my newborn.
I didn’t have to worry about what was for dinner or worry about time management when it came to the meals. The only difficult decision about it was which meal we wanted to set out for dinner that day.

I’ve done some freezer foods before but not much. I really must get into this. I have to admit that I really could have done with this before my babies were born – it would have taken so much of the strain off of me but I was not thinking of that at the time. I don’t usually go full on with freezing any foods – I freeze rice regularly and fruit for my smoothies but not much else. The big problem I have right now is that we only have a very small freezer at the bottom of our fridge. I would love to buy a big deep freezer and then I can really go wild with freezer meals!
Really interesting post, I have actually never thought about freezing meals. Thank you for the insight and the recipe links
I know the struggle as it’s very exhausting to come up with a recipe every day twice. I fear when I join work it’s only going to get more stressful. I have never tried freezer meals. This sounds like a great plan. I might start with something simple, experiment with how the consistency of the curries look after freezing. Thanks for this post.
I had read a book on meal preparation few months ago and your post has reminded me that again. I really liked this idea and specially with 2 or more little kids, this thing can help a lot to moms in managing multiple responsibilities together. will check the recipes for sure, looking interesting to me.
My fiancé works away a lot of the time, and I think this is the approach I should take as cooking for one is
no fun, and you find yourself eating some unhealthy take-away instead. I think I’m going to be using this advice in future!
Never thought of doing this when I was pregnant. I remember groaning every morning for the first three months, at the thought of cooking – those were the morning sickness days and thinking of eating would make me feel miserable. But once that passed, I did enjoy preparing for my baby. We had a fresh veg market nearby and I really enjoyed going there and cooking. But I see how freezer prep meals are an excellent idea. I do that now for myself!
Meal prepping is awesome. Me and my husband bought this little containers that come 6 in a pack. We will be using it to freeze foodies when our daughter starts on solids ?
Very interesting read! Meal prepping has always seemed so intriguing to me. I haven’t had any kids yet, but I’ll be sure to keep these meal prepping ideas in mind whenever I do! Thanks for sharing 🙂
You don’t have to have kids to start meal prepping! You can meal prep for one 😉 Take a recipe and cut it in half and you will have 2 meals for yourself.
Freezer Meals seems like a great idea. I am impressed that you made meals for 2 months in 2 days. I am sure this pre-planning would have reduced your stress considerably and gave you plenty of time to bond with your baby. Thanks for this fab post 🙂
Those look like really good meals for everyone. Great idea for the baggies.
